So we are absolutely sure that this is not the first website you encountered that discusses the difference between SSD and HDD.  We promise no geek speak.  Although some us do speak "dolphin".

Suffice it to say that SSD's are much faster than HDD.  Standard SDD are approximately 30 times faster than HDD.  If you chose the next level of SSD, as in m.2 versions, you are approaching what we consider "lunacy" speeds".  This includes both writing and reading of data.

The newer builds we create typically include either the standard SSD or m.2 versions.  Some clients still ask for HDD for data storage purposes.  With prices steadily coming down for larger capacity SSD, we anticipate that HDD data storage will gradually convert to SSD.
